I'm Rose, mother of one baby girl, one big black cat, and a half dozen fish (I share the pets so you know how much cleaning I do, or don't do).
Since the birth of my daughter (okay, who am I trying to kid, it was several weeks after her birth) I started to think about blogging again. Previous to think I was blogging about my knitwear designing at Rose Stewart Designs, but now the things I was really fired up to write about weren't about my knitting. I wanted to write about motherhood; the surprises, the challenges, the joys, and what has worked for me. I realized that so much of early motherhood occurs in almost secret, and that is just fine until the oxytocin high wears off and you realize the gravity and uniqueness of the situation you are in. No two babies are alike, and therefore no two journeys to motherhood are alike. I just hope that in sharing my experiences others will be encouraged (at least in knowing they aren't the only miserable milk and pee covered woman up at 3 am debating changing the baby's sheets or not (because you're used to sleeping a puddle, but baby may not be)).
I have also finally reached the point that I can start thinking about cooking (once in a while, if the conditions are perfect) exercising (by this I mean actual working out, not just walking around with baby and lifting her over my head) and the recreational activities I used to enjoy (gardening, knitting, shopping, running). But boy, there are enough reasons for me to spend my hours differently so I will let you know when I am back to doing these things regularly.
